Okay, I figure I should explain the game, basically each time you restart the game you get a random pairing of 2 of 4 creatures that I have created for this game. Divination allows you to foresee the 10 future damage values for your advocate and your opponent. The adversary has to play their damage values in order while you have the ability of Intervention which allows you to play a future damage value early. However there is one creature that cheats. Tell me in the comments if you figure out which. Oh and I ran out of time to implement Charm and Turn Away in the end. The game ends when either creature reaches 0 Life, after that the music stops and you have to restart the game with F5.

Regarding the development of this game it took 2.5 days to make the devtools and 0.5 days to make the game itself. Making a video and an audio editor plus a game really takes a toll...

All art, music, dev tools made by me in these 3 days, except some parts of the music editor which I had already implemented for I had made a music editor before, but I decided to remake it to be more like my video editor. The dev tools are available in the source code as well so you can decide to make your own Game Boy-esque game using my base, for the graphics editor and music editor are already done, although they aren't 100% Game Boy compatible in reality since I prioritized useful features to complete the Jam first. AI was used for research only as a search engine, everything written and drawn and composed was done by human me.

Controls:
- A = Z
- B = X
- Start = Enter
- Select = Space
- D-Pad = Arrow Keys
- F = Fullscreen

It's pretty fun haha. Would have been interesting to come up with some mechanics that would make it a bit less predictable/more difficult to accurately predict. As-is it's sort of obvious what moves you want to be making I feel. But the concept is really cool and I had fun playing:)

Is the cheater stromatolite?

@ioana Actually the predictability was the point of this battle system. Your damage is not a random value at the time of attack but a known value from a pool of bound randomly generated values. So against most creatures this is easy puzzle game, except for the creature that cheats, and no, it is not Stromatolite. There is actually a bug in the game, but because the game is unbalanced because all creatures deal the same damage but some have higher starting Life than others, this bug opens up the possibility quite a bit to beat an adversary creature with high Life using an advocate creature that has much less Life, so I am not going to fix this bug. This bug does however make it harder to identify the cheater creature if you do not know beforehand how the bug works.

Seeing the next ten damage values and choosing when to pull one forward is a neat battle idea. Also, putting a creature that cheats into a game about predicting moves is pretty funny. The litle bird sprite is great.
