Infection was originally conceived as a Liquid Wars clone, but I found this tumor-like creature quite interesting to fight. Green cells will follow your mouse, allowing you to surround and absorb red tissue. Clear the screen and you'll find yourself fighting even more tissue, until it absorbs you.
There's no ending, no score, nothing, but it's oddly hypnotic nevertheless. Have fun!
But there's no way to lose, unless you attack a big group in early stages of a level. I should add some weighting depending on the distance towards the mouse pointer: the smaller, the stronger your particles are, so those far away from the mouse cursor may easily die.
good stuff man.. i was messing with something similar awhile back but there is more game in your than i had.. and i wasnt aware of liquid wars but i like the look of it :)
This is a fun toy, and it would have fit the main LD theme if you made it into a game about an amoeba. I think giving this more space would be more fun, so it's a shame you chose such a small resolution!
Ooh... It is a fun toy, and could make an even funner game! Maybe some solid obstacles, some power-ups that make the greeen particles that touch them corrosif, some simple food, etc... I hypnotic toy makes for a hypnotic game!
Very, very cool. This idea could definitely be fleshed out into a neat game design. Maybe you control the collective consciousness of a bacterial colony, eating through tissue? Maybe you're an acid, trying to destroy a barricade? Cool, cool stuff.
