SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: DOS, 1MB RAM (for DOS), ~45MHz CPU, 5MB disk space, VGA display card ==================================== - You will need a DOS machine or emulator to run the game. - It should run (but is untested) on most hardware from the 90's.
CONTROLS: Mouse, Arrows or WASD, Space/Enter, ESC ==================================== - The game uses standard mouse point and click mechanics from games like Myst. - You will have to search the room to discover how to escape. - Escape the room to win!
TOOLS: TurboC, Sublime Text, Smart Phone Cameras, Several Props, Photoshop, Aseprite ==================================== - The game was written in C, and compiled with (the non-ANSI compliant) Borland Turbo C 2.01. - At first I liked the yellow on blue IDE (it reminded me of the PowerBasic IDE I learned to program in). After a few days it got old though and I moved to good old Sublime Text. - Most photos were taken with a OnePlus 3T smart phone, and edited for VGA display in Photoshop. - Sprites and click masks were created using Aseprite. - We went way over the normal Ludum Dare time limit of 48 hours. I spent a week familiarizing myself with TurboC, and A SECOND WEEK to actually make the game. I learned a lot in the process, and it took much longer than I would have liked. This is probably the last time I'll make a DOS game though, and there were a lot of things I wanted to try out. ^_^
