WRECKLESS RALLY, where you drive your tow truck around a race track, playing some kinda of Bejewelled along the way. Drop off wrecked cars for points, but *mind the frog!* 🐸🏎️🏎️🏎️
Coding Timelapse
Pixelart Timelapse
Controls
* WASD for movement * E for dropping off your conga line of cars * SPACE for vertical drifting
Very nice game. Creative idea: jeweled and race! I liked the music and graphics, well done! The best think is the learning curve, you can really improve and you not get frustrated, the vertical drifting is hard to master but not impossible. You put weeckless rally in an Arcade and you will have a lot of people trying to get more points.
I love this game. Best game this LD so far. I don't think I have any criticism. The tutorial starts off immediatley in the menu but it takes time to realize that so I had to watch it twice. Other than that, it's just good.
How did you settle with this idea ? When I saw the theme, I imediately wanted to make a racing game, mixted with a turn base strategy ! I couldn't explain why XD I just knew I couldn't get it out of my mind.
Nice idea, very original and it was well executed, it was difficult at the beginning to understand the gameplay but then it becomes interesting. Didn't find any bug btw, what is increidible in only 72.
The visuals are simply amazing! Really liked the concept, the "look and feel" and the controls. Think about making a full mobile version, this game has potential, guys! :)
The graphics are amazing and the choice of "menu" is brilliant. I think you are spot on the theme, it feels really original. The game is really well packaged and super polished. Really good job doing this in just 72 hours! :)
Such a polished Jam amazing! Fantastic concept and beautifully exicuted, really addictive and fun! If you get chance check out our Jam Mechasnek :) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/mechasnek
That was cool. Liked the art for sure. I never figured out how to throw cars sideways. Clever way to combine the 2 genres! If you want to check out my game it's: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/dating-sim-hell
Great melding of 2 genres! It's really polished and I like that you pick up cars and make combos with the colors. I did want to speed up the car using S though. Mostly my preference though!
Your game is perfect combination of arcade gameplay, clear pixel art, fun sounds and music and nicely balanced controls. Hard to find anything to nitpick, maybe I could have used even easier level to practise..
Artwork is really nice, it really caught my attention! Clever combination of genres although the gameplay didn't maintain my attention for too long, maybe because I want to race these beautiful cars as a more traditional Amiga "Super Cars" game =) Wonderful job though!
Amazing classic graphical style. Cool combination of themes, and the core mechanic is really compelling.
The "hard" level was a little overwhelming - it felt like there wasn't quite enough time to line everything up to make all the sweet combos. But I guess that's why it's hard mode!
This is one of those LD entries that you already know they will be on of the winners. Excellent game, fun and professional-like gameplay and graphics. Something you don't expect to see very often. I haven't found any bug or anything. Also the music was really good and well fitting.
Nice, I love both the idea and the execution. I didn't notice that what was happening before the menu was a tutorial so I ignored it and was confused as hell when I started playing but it was easy to grasp after a few missteps. The art is really great too. Well done.
Not only is this one of the most innovative concepts I've seen this Ludum Dare, the graphics are also fantastically detailed and well-polished. I think the way the game detects collisions and matches got a bit frustrating sometimes, but I still had a lot of fun playing this.
I also really enjoyed reading your post-mortem blog posts; they're really well-done.
Really great entry that has made it to TOP3 games I have came across so far. Love the Art work done on this peace and also the mechanics are handled in top-notch matter. Thanks a lot, I had fine time! Great Job!
This is fun! Took a while to understand how it works, but after a while I understood! So good job on that! I like a game where the players have to learn the gameplay themselves :) The graphic & audio is very well done, kudos to the artists! Great job on this polished game
Great concept, really cute and polished graphics, fitting audio - all in all a solid entry, well done. Special props for the nice tutorial, gotta remember it till the next jam. :P
Edit: Oh, forgot to mention - instantly recognized your LD39 entry (was last time I participated), that robot's style is awesome and hard to forget. :3
Awesome game ! Strong in every aspect from sound to the nice pixel art. You manage to tell the player how he has to play the game. I really enjoyed it, really polished.
A lovely marriage between two genres. For some reason the controls felt a little odd to me, and I'm not sure why. This is the most innovative and fun game I've played so far. Really great work!
Genius Game! Great combination of elements and is challenging and super fun. Cool graphics and matching audio with a catchy yume. A genre by itself! Congratulations! 5/5
Hard to believe this game was created in 72 hours! Your entry really shows the quality and attention to detail that a small team of devs can put together in such a short time. Great job, everyone!
Awesome and unique concept! Sometimes the camera felt a bit to slow when there weren't any spots to drop off cars, but the game was still really fun and felt good too play. Great job!
It was fun to play, and I like the genre mix. And the mood - in a race, one plays usually as a challenger, not as the cleaning truck driver! I found also that arts are somewhat polished : I noticed lot of details in graphics, and the music, as simple and repetitive is it, goes very well with the game. Very well done!
Jeez, you guys are incredible. The polish is unreal, the innovation is top-notch, and on top of that you guys are still rating and creating awesome post-mortems. I don't know what else to say but that you guys have a good shot at top 10.
This is really fun! The controls are a bit tricky at parts but the graphics are amazing, the sound design is pretty fun, and it's just really-well coded! Also I ran over the frog at the start before playing in "hard mode" and the lil voice you put there cracked me up ^^# - ALSO the time lapse videos of the game's development are pretty neat ideas, I'll check out the one about the Art later on. Well done, nice game, keep it up :-D
When I passed a chain of purple cars onto purple squares and read a bonus, I felt skilled! If you continue to develop this, when I dragged a chain of cars past their colored squares, I felt clueless.

Congrutulations
Also I do like the "the menu is the game" meme and i like your implementation of it.
It feels like there's a lot of depth in technique to keeping colors you need to do the high scoring combos multiple times.
Fitting art/music style, theme, and great game all around.
I enjoy the gameplay, graphics and audio.
The "menu" is also a very cool idea !
Really, good job team, it's a great game.
I just knew I couldn't get it out of my mind.

Gameplay, Art, Sound and Music - everything fits great spreading awesomeness in the atmosphere!
And you catched the theme very well!
Great job, guys! :3
