The Chosen: postmortem
After sleeping 12 hours and looking at the feedback that I got so far I think its time to write my Postmortem.
Time logs and post-mortems written by the authors of the games
After sleeping 12 hours and looking at the feedback that I got so far I think its time to write my Postmortem.
well, let’s do this thing then, shall we 😀
As with all crazy ideas that people don’t think will work, mine actually did. I chose to learn Java over the weekend while creating my game, in Java. I learnt a tiny bit…
I wrote a post-mortem for the last Ludum Dare on my blog.
Well, if you spent the last few years being slapped around a table all day, you’d be grumpy too! This ball just wants to be alone on his blocky islands.
Brain finally returning to normal. That was an interesting weekend. I kept track of my hours in notepad – turns out I worked about 39 of the possible 48 hours. And I…
That was hard! It was a trainwreck of failures.
Here goes a postmortem for my first LD game, Lighthouse Keeper. I started working on the game on Saturday afternoon and finished almost on the deadline.
If you haven’t yet here is my JAM game for you now consideration {DUNGEON DAN}
It’s been over a day, and I’m still pretty winded from LD. Look, I made some game about clones, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43348544/LudumDare22.swf, and that was a really…
This was my very first Ludum Dare entry, and I had a lot of fun with it
Another Ludum Dare has come and gone and now that the high is over, it’s time to brag about the things I got right and lament about the perils of doing things wrong.
This is my first time taking part in Ludum Dare or any other game competition or jam. In fact, this is really the first time I’ve ever finished and published a game that…
==What went right==
This was my second LudumDare competition and my first successful one. I tried to put something together for LD21, but ultimately had over-complicated my idea and spent…
This has been my first Ludum Dare entry (and probably the first game I’ve actually “released” beyond just having the code available). I decided to make something…
It’s the day after, I am extremely well rested – slept for 11 hours after coding for over 25 hours straight! – and my game is getting some plays. I can’t wait to dig…
This was my first entry, and boy was it a crazy experience. Next time I will definitely create something simpler, and alot less focued on the nice shaders. I did a…
Haha, game-related puns.
It took a few tries in Motion to upload to YouTube properly, but without further ado, here’s my timelapse for the creation of The Travel Section, with a postmortem after the link:
This was my first entry into the Ludum Dare 48 hour compo. It was a blast and I learned a lot.
This is my second time here, and I really wanted to charge through and release an actual product that actually worked. At the same time, I wanted to show people that…
Alright, I managed to beat GM4Mac into submission and actually port my game, so now Comfort Zone can be played by my fellow Mac users. Hurrah! This means all of my Ludum…
[Play the game ]
Now that I’ve slept, I think I’m ready to think about what worked and what didn’t. But You Wake Alone has basically the same gameplay that I imagined in the beginning…
Hello there!
Overall I’m very happy with my game. Not because it’s the best game ever, but because I finished it and it’s playable. I even managed to cram in a bonus if you keep playing.
Time for everyone to high-five everyone else.
Hello, this is my postmortem forThe Necropolis, the first Ludum Dare that I’ve finished not counting the mini Ludum Dare last month. Looking at some of the games here is…

Ok so I crashed for some sleep after submitting my compo entry and I figure now is the best time to do a postmortem.
My first time in Ludum Dare went surprisingly well, I still had to skip some major ideas and lots of gameplay, but at least I finished it.
This was my first ludum dare entry! It wasn’t actually too much of a wild ride, though– I was taking it pretty easy. More below. :)
I didn’t get any immediate ideas, so I began by making the basis for a platformer with the theme in mind. Then it sort of evolved as I came up with things I thought…
What went right?
First, link to this game: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-22/?action=rate&uid=7264
Playable here
What went well Except for some flixel hiccups the coding went very smoothly. Granted, this kind of game isn’t really rocket science. Art was 80% done in the first hour…
Hey guys, this is my first time taking part in Ludum Dare and I am determined that it wont be my last.
So, this is my second Ludumdare. This time, my graphics engine did not crap out on me. Unfortunately, I still tried to push it too hard, and discovered that my old…
This was my first Ludum Dare and I have to say it was a lot of fun. Looking back I can think of a dozen ways I could have done better, but I don’t think I would have…
Now that I have gotten some sleep I’ll go ahead and reflect about how I think I did on my game. I’ll be honest that I wasn’t a huge fan of the alone theme and I didn’t…
This Ludum Dare went much better than the last. I finished this year with hours to spare, last year, I was very close to the deadline. I think it was because I was more…
Right well everyone else is doing post mortems I suppose I should too!
Well this has been my first ludum dare, and I have to say it’s been a cool but exhaustive experience. This time I’m going to write a small postmortem for my entry, Enola,…
First things first, I made two separate time lapses for the two days, because I scrapped all the work from the first day so it’s fairly irrelevant.
